چکیده
The 0.2C-2Si (mass%) steels with the addition of 0–4 mass% Cr were prepared by hot rolling followed subsequent annealing for normalization. subjected to friction stir welding (FSW) conducted above A3 temperature. For all steels, sound FSWed joints obtained. Microstructures and tensile properties using small specimens investigated both base materials zones. showed a relatively good balance strength ductility when content is over 3 presumably owing fine microstructures ferrite martensite. zones substantially enhanced FSW, zone 0.2C-2Si-4Cr joint fully martensitic structure exhibited surprisingly high 1720 MPa compared that conventional steel 0.2 mass%C together excellent ductility. This assumed be caused refinement block size in fresh lath martensite and/or formation ausformed induced dynamically recrystallized austenite grains FSW added steels.

Tensile properties and fracture locations of friction-stir-welded joints of 2017-T351 aluminum alloy
Friction stir welding (FSW) is a new and promising welding process that can produce low-cost and high-quality joints of heat-treatable aluminum alloys because it does not need consumable filler materials and can eliminate some welding defects such as crack and porosity. In order to demonstrate the friction stir weldability of the 2017-T351 aluminum alloy and determine optimum welding parameters...

Article history: Received: 4.7.2014. Received in revised form: 2.9.2014. Accepted: 3.9.2014. Surface compensation friction stir welding (SCFSW) is successfully applied to weld 6005A-T6 aluminum alloy in order to eliminate disadvantages caused by flash and arc corrugation. The effects of rotational velocity on the microstructures and mechanical properties of SCFSW joints are investigated. The jo...
متن کاملEffect of Heat Input on Tensile Properties of Friction Stir Welded AA6061-T6 and AA7075-T6 Dissimilar Aluminum Alloy Joints
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a solid state process widely used to join dissimilar aluminium alloys. High quality and strength joints can be fabricated using this technique when compared to other conventional methods. The welding parameters play major role in determining the quality of the weld. This paper aims in presenting the effect of heat input on tensile properties of the joints between ...
متن کاملThe Strength of Friction Stir Welded and Friction Stir Processed Aluminium Alloys
Local strength of friction stir (FS) welds and FS processed aluminium alloys in heat treatable aluminium alloys is dominated by precipitation hardening. Strengthening due to stored dislocations is generally limited to 40MPa, and grain size strengthening is generally less than 10MPa. Local crystallographic texture can cause yield strength variation on the order of 5%. Published models for streng...

Polymer-based nanocomposites due to their advantages such as corrosion resistance, adequate mechanical properties and low cost are widely used in modern technologies. The increasing application of these nanocomposites, and hence their welding seems unavoidable. In this paper, a novel hottool in friction stir welding process is used for butt welding nanocomposite plates of 5 mm thick containing p...
